Final Cut

In my final cut, I chose to blend the graffiti and playground scenes together as it was pointed out to me that the children that play there will potentially be the graffiti artists of the future. I shortened the final product so it does not last as long and changed the pattern so that it is not as meticulous and rigid.

Rough Sound

As stated before, this all takes place in Gordon Park. While there, I came across some incredible graffiti which provided contrast to all the nature in the vicinity and the very well kept playground on the higher ground of the park. When the shots cut to wall, the sound used is an echo heavy sewer I found on my walk these abrupt transitions are for the purpose of showing the hidden side of what we see in every day life.

Start Point and Production Strategy

Despite my frustration with my exploration of parks in my previous drifts, I would like to give another park a shot. I have always been intrigued by Gordon Park when I cross the bridge on Locust. The river fits my sense of aesthetic and on a good day, I'm appreciative of the distribution of the light. This project will give me an excuse to actually go down and explore the park.

My production strategies will be to explore shots with bold colors and primarily shoot footage where both light and shadow are prevalent. This is due to my latest obsession with color and light as well as my desire to go during the daytime as I am a little squeamish about the shooting that took place back in December.

If all works out as planned, I will be able to make a round of the entire park exploring all its assets.
